| Quick Guide to Traditional Missals | Return to top of Home Page |
| There are currently, in print, six different Latin-English Missals for the Traditional (Tridentine) Rite of Mass, and Southwell Books supplies them all. However, choosing the best one for you, or as a present for someone, can be a bewildering task - each one offers a different list of extra features, quality of printing and binding, and, of course, price.
Therefore, to help you, at least, narrow down your choice, we have produced an "at-a-glance" comparative guide below of some of the more important features of a missal. At the top of the table we've listed content criteria; at the bottom criteria relating to physical appearance and manufacture.
We'll be adding to the list in accordance with the feedback and questions we receive from customers. If you simply want a missal for use on Sundays and Holydays with the Ordinary and Proper, all our missals will do good service.
If you have extra requirements (such as liturgical music notation, for example) then some will be more suitable than others. We suggest you also read the fuller description for each missal (click on the title of each one). You are also encouraged to phone us (or email us) and we will be very happy to try to answer any questions you still have before making your choice.

† Bonded leather is a trade term for a method of book covering that provides a cheaper alternative to real leather, while retaining the leather feel. A coating made from leather off-cuts is applied to hardback boards and then embossed to give the look of real leather. |

| I don't like buying things via the Internet: can I pay by cheque? |
| The short answer is yes. We do accept payment by Sterling cheques (made out to "Southwell Books"). Don't forget to include the cost of postage with your order. You can easily work out the postage cost by using this website - click the "Add" button next to the book title on the product description page of each item. You will then be taken to the "My Basket" page and the postage is automatically calculated (you can choose First or Second Class if you are in the UK). You do not need to give your name and address or any card details to do this. Please note that we have a minimum order level of £5.00 and are unable to accept cheques for less than that. Send your order to: Southwell Books, P.O. Box 547, Abingdon, OX14 9DR.

| Are you experiencing problems paying online? |
| June 2008: New Secure Payments System As of June 2008, we are changing to a new secure online payments system, provided by Protx, which we hope will solve many, if not all, of the technical hiccups that customers were too-frequently experiencing with the previous system from HSBC. For the first month or so, we will be keeping a close eye on how the new system performs, so if you do have any problems with paying online, please let us know so that we can sort them out for you and future customers. Either phone us on 01235 521224 or email us on info@southwellbooks.com.
